Founder of the Khanate
Before Obdey Khan, Gorathia was a homeland of competing nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes rather than a single kingdom. His unification of those peoples made Gorathia the heartland of an expanding imperial order.
Subject realms retain broad authority over their own laws, customs, and domestic institutions, but their rulers answer to the Great Khan for loyalty, tribute, military service, and the upkeep of strategic routes. The result is a decentralized Khanate whose power reaches far beyond its Gorathian core.
Public record
Public chronicles chiefly record the consequences of his rule: the conquest of Lithaea, the expansion that followed, and the obligations that bind the Khanate’s many subject realms. They do not offer a complete account of the man behind that authority.
