Seghan

An eastern frontier community on the upper Chanar road, close to the mountain rim of the basin.

A vulnerable frontier

Seghan is the easternmost town shown on the Chanar route. Older local records describe requests for armed escorts between Seghan and Kubellai and attacks worsening after the Khan called a military levy for the western war.

That record makes Seghan a useful example of the war's indirect effects: when garrisons and soldiers are drawn toward the Khanate's front, remote communities face banditry, monsters, and other threats with less state protection.
