Portaníes is attested by the regional map and by surviving writs issued through its Lower Court of Criminal Proceedings and constabulary. This makes it one of the few smaller Lithaean settlements whose public institutions appear directly in the recovered record.
The exact relationship between those courts and the Grand Council's national administration remains undescribed.
